TU football players arrested on drug, gun charges

(TULSA, Okla) On Wednesday at 12:22 a.m., officers were radio assigned to the University of Tulsa, 2807 E. 5th Place, in reference to assist University of Tulsa security officers. Upon arrival officers learned that a security officer observed a strong odor of marijuana from room 2030 in the John Mabee Hall dorm. The University of Tulsa security officer entered the dorm room and discovered two individuals inside the room.  They were identified as Korey King, 19, and Lazarus May, 18.  Both Korey King and Lazarus May are football players for the University of Tulsa. Inside the room security officers observed a large quantity of marijuana and a Kel-Tec sub2000 9mm rifle.  Tulsa University security officers detained both Korey King and Lazarus May and notified Tulsa Police. Officers applied for and was granted a Tulsa County search warrant to retrieve the contraband. Upon executing the search warrant officers found 253 grams of marijuana, a Kel-Tec sub2000 9mm rifle and three air soft guns.  Both Korey King and Lazarus May were arrested and transported to David L. Moss for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
