Nurses handmake Halloween costumes for NICU babies
OklahomaHealthCommunity
(TULSA, Okla.) Nurses at Ascension St. John NICU put in overtime handmaking costumes for their babies to wear this Halloween.
St. John spokesperson Caitlin Pond told VNN it is an annual tradition.
“It can be difficult for NICU families to feel a sense of normalcy, so the nurses go above and beyond to help them celebrate an important life milestone: baby’s first Halloween,” Pond said.
We’re told former St. John NICU families pitched in this year and donated children’s books to inspire the costumes.
Each child dressed as the main character from a children’s book, and the book is theirs to keep.
