Woman shot dead in road rage incident

(TULSA, Okla.) UPDATE: The shooting victim had been identified as Lakeia Gaines, 24. Two others were also in the car, including Gaines' four-year-old daughter. Nathaniel Chilcoat was arrested for first degree murder. ORIGINAL STORY: On Tuesday just before 3:30 p.m., two cars were involved in a road rage incident at about 8200 E. 51st St. A verbal altercation in the parking lot ensued that culminated in 29-year-old Nathaniel Chilcoat firing into a car occupied by two women and a four-year-old child. A bullet struck the victim in the upper torso. She was transported to the hospital and pronounced at 1612 hours. Family for the victim has been notified, but we are giving them time to contact the rest of the family and will release her name at a later date. Chilcoat was transported to Detective Division and questioned. He was being booked for First Degree Murder.
