Tulsa Creek Indian Community holds annual Christmas Bazaar

(TULSA, Okla.) The Tulsa Creek Indian Community held their annual Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, Dec 9. The community center at 8611 S. Union Ave in Tulsa was decked with holiday decorations and lights while shoppers browsed and bought items from a variety of vendors. Artists and craftspeople sold everything from liquid soap cozies and beaded collars to homemade jams.

This was a busy year of activities for the community. From holiday meals to movie nights and guest speakers, programming plays a big role in the life of the center. They recently participated in the 2023 Tulsa Native American Day Parade and won second place with their float which featured community members and an arbor. 

In addition to arts and crafts vendors, the event had a concession selling breakfast and lunch. Cakes and frybread were also available. Proceeds from the sales benefit the center and go toward activities, programming, and other events. Williams said, “We have a lot of programs that benefit a lot of members… We do a lot of things for our youth, we take them to the movies and other things.”
