Next week rumbling in with chance of showers

(TULSA, Okla.) A slight chance of light drizzle/rain and also patchy fog will be possible late Sunday into Monday morning before a cold front moves into the County Warning Area. This front should reach Northeast Oklahoma mid/late morning and into Southeast Oklahoma and Western Arkansas Monday afternoon. Rain chances continue into Monday night. There may even be a rumble of thunder across extreme southeast Oklahoma Monday evening. Behind the frontal passage improving conditions and west to northwest winds are forecast. The warmest day of the forecast period will be Monday with highs expected to be in the 60s across most of the area with a few 70 degree readings not out of the question across southeast Oklahoma and west-central Arkansas. Beyond Monday, temperatures are forecast to remain near or below normal. We will see a slight uptick in precipitation chances Wednesday night across southeast Oklahoma as moisture overruns a cold front near the Gulf Coast and a weak mid-level shortwave moves across the southern Plains. We may see a brief light wintry mix along the northern edge of the precipitation shield across southeast Oklahoma. No impacts are expected.
