(KAY COUNTY, Okla.) Back on October 18, OHP troopers worked a double fatality collision in Kay County. The grandmother of a child involved called the Communications Center asking if the trooper could recover the child's backpack that contained her favorite blanket and stuffed animal. Communication officers were informed that the vehicle had caught on fire and burned and there was no way to make that recovery. So four of them went on a "good Samaritan" mission to purchase new stuffed animals and blanket and personally delivered them to the child at OU's Children's Hospital. Just because they are not actually on scene does not mean they don't feel the pain of these families involved in crashes. Their actions came at a time when everyone needed something good to hold onto. And for once, they had managed to give beyond their normal reach of the calm voice during the storm. Pictured from left to right is Kelsey Moore, Charity Shipley, Teresa Griggs and Molly Achterberg. Those involved in this incident but not pictured are Ben Failer, Ben Darby and Chase McDonald.
