(OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.) December brings a festive mix of light displays, Christmas parades and old-fashioned winter fun to big cities and charming small towns across Oklahoma. Sneak a peek at 10 must-see events below or search all December events to find celebrations to make your holidays bright. Downtown in December – Oklahoma City – Through January 31 Downtown Oklahoma City comes alive as a months-long winter playground during this annual holiday celebration. From ice skating and twinkling light displays to free weekend streetcar rides, downtown offers a holiday retreat for the whole family. Winterfest – Tulsa – Through January 3 Get in the holly jolly spirit with horse-drawn carriage rides, miniature train rides, live entertainment and beautiful light displays - including Oklahoma’s tallest outdoor Christmas tree! Then, head inside the BOK Center where you can go ice skating on one of the nation’s largest rinks. Rhema Christmas Lights – Broken Arrow – Through January 1 Drive, walk or take a horse-drawn carriage ride through over two million lights at this beloved holiday celebration. The crowning jewel is the Rhema Park bridge, which is decked out with 90,000 lights all synchronized to Christmas music. Chickasha Festival of Light - Chickasha - Through December 31 This winter extravaganza is recognized as one of the top ten light shows in the nation and features over 3.5 million twinkling lights. Get out of your car and enjoy the lights on foot or from a carriage, then warm up with hot cocoa and a cinnamon roll from the concession stand. Christmas in the Park - Yukon - Through December 31 Catch the Santa Express train and cruise through Chisholm Trail Park in Yukon to spot festive Christmas light displays. Now celebrating its 25th anniversary, this event is held across three interconnected parks that are decked out with over 500 displays and five million lights, including displays that twinkle in sync to cheerful Christmas music.
Castle Christmas - Muskogee - Through December 31 Experience one of the world's largest collections of holiday inflatables and Christmas lights at the Castle of Muskogee. Whether you drive, ride the train or take a holiday hayride through the kingdom’s winter wonderland, you’re sure to enjoy over 1,000 festive displays. Crystal Christmas - Woodward - Through December 31 Enjoy lighted train rides, live nativity scenes and pictures with Santa at Crystal Beach Park, which is decked out in over two million Christmas lights. Select nights will also feature live music and food trucks. Philbrook Festival - Tulsa - Through December 26 Walk through glowing gardens adorned by thousands of twinkling bulbs, sip cocoa by the fire and say hello to Santa from afar on select nights through December. Take-and-make art activities will also be available. Woolaroc Wonderland of Lights - Bartlesville - Through December 20 Bartlesville / Through December 20 Celebrate the magic of Christmas at this drive-through display of more than 750,000 glistening lights each weekend. If you’re lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of the Holiday Horseman covered in lights riding across the grounds. Minco Honey Festival - Minco - December 5 At this sweet event, learn more about honeybees and their delicious nectar while touring Oklahoma’s largest honey production facility.
