OSBI arrests former Sperry police officer on drug charges

On October 23, 2018, Sperry Police Department requested OSBI assistance to investigate Michael Anthony Townsend (DOB: 01/15/1986), who was an active Sperry police officer at that time.

The OSBI initiated an investigation and Townsend resigned his position during the investigation.

On December 9, 2018, Townsend was arrested and charged with Distribution of Controlled Substance and Attempted Unlawful Possession of Controlled Drugs.

He was booked into the David L. Moss Correctional Facility on a $15,000 bond.
