(TRAVERSE CITY, Mich.) After being cancelled in 2020 because of COVID-19, Traverse City Uncorked will be back during the month of May. The event will celebrate the Traverse Wine Coast during Michigan Wine Month. Traverse City Tourism says there will be a digital passport this year that guests can use when they're checking in at the different locations. People who participate will also be able to go through self guided tours at more than 40 different wineries in the region. "We are taking every step to assure the safety of all our visitors,” said Traverse City Tourism president, Trevor Tkach. “We really missed the fun of Traverse City Uncorked last year. We had to reinvent the program. But we sense both our visitors, and our wineries are eager to share the unique experiences throughout the Traverse Wine Coast.” People who check in at five different Traverse Wine Coast locations with their digital passport will be able to get an uncorked t-shirt or Traverse City wine related gift items. Anyone who chooses to stay at a hotel participating in the event will have the chance to win a wine themed vacation in Traverse City.
