Tulsans invited to 2021 Bond for Tulsa Public Schools virtual information sessions

(TULSA, Okla.) On Tuesday, June 8, Tulsans will have the opportunity to vote on the 2021 Bond for Tulsa Public Schools. This month, the district is holding a series of virtual information sessions giving Tulsans a chance to learn about the proposed bond package. The district will hold parent information sessions in each board district and general sessions for community members. Families and community members can register at www.tulsaschools.org/bondsessions.

This week’s information sessions will take place on the following dates:
·  Tuesday, May 18 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.: Parents who live in District 7

o  District 7 includes Carnegie, Eisenhower International, Grissom, Key, Marshall, McClure, and Patrick Henry elementary schools; Thoreau Demonstration Academy; and Memorial High School.

·  Thursday, May 20 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.: Parents who live in District 5

o  District 5 includes Eliot, Lanier, Mayo, Edison Middle School, and Edison High School.

The four propositions in the 2021 Bond for Tulsa Public Schools focus on five key areas:

·  Ensuring that every child learns in a safe, secure, healthy, and accessible environment;

·  Expanding access to programs that prepare every student to succeed in college and careers;

·  Strengthening science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) programming in all schools; 

·  Nurturing the whole child with investments in fine arts, athletics, physical education, wellness, and purposeful play; and   

·  Providing state-of-the-art educational technology for every student and every teacher.
