Sunny skies and nineties for next week
(TULSA, Okla.) Drier dewpoints continue to gradually push southward through the forecast area with far southeast Oklahoma the last to be rid of the hot and humid conditions. A corridor of strongly unstable airmass will remain across far southeast Oklahoma through Sunday evening and an isolated storm is possible, though chances remain very low.
The drier airmass will reside across the immediate area through Wednesday allowing for cooler overnight lows, however daytime temperatures are likely to warm above normal for most locations.
A stronger wave topping the western continental United States upper ridge will help drive a cold front into the central Plains Thursday into Friday. The southward advance of this front and associated rain chances remain uncertain with most guidance favoring the boundary remaining near to just north of the forecast area through into next weekend.
As the western ridge flattens by late week any convective complexes, which can originate along the frontal zone, would have a chance to spread into the area. However, at this time range, plenty of uncertainty remains.
