(TULSA, Okla.) Breezy, hot and hazy conditions continue again Sunday. The upper ridge has retreated back to the west a bit as a strong northern stream shortwave moves near U.S./Canada border.

Temperatures will begin to trend down modestly the next couple of days, with a more humid airmass beginning to spread northwest by Monday. This, along with lower wind speeds, will lessen the overall fire danger by then. We will go ahead with a fire danger statement for one more day generally northwest of I-44.

As deeper moisture lifts north early this week, a few afternoon storms may be possible across southeast OK by Monday afternoon. A tropical wave is still expected to lift north along the Texas coast Tuesday, with model consensus still curving the system northeast and keeping primary impacts to the east of our area.

Our next rain chance will arrive Tuesday night into Wednesday as a weak front approaches the north. Uncertainty remains as to whether the front actually makes it this far south, and as such will keep precipitation chances relatively low at this time, with at least a modest cool down to more normal levels.

Temperatures should then rise back above normal late in the week into next weekend.
