19-year-old aims to make her beauty mark in Broome County

(BINGHAMTON, N.Y.) As Broome County continues to overflow with rising entrepreneurs, one 19-year-old is looking to make her mark in the cosmetology industry. 

Elaina Ervin is a hair stylist and makeup artist who recently launched her own beauty brand “Laina’s Looks”. 

Setting herself apart, Ervin not only offers hair and make-up services, but she also offers products and instruction for customers to do their own make-up at home. 

While still in cosmetology school, Ervin says she plans to expand her brand upon graduation. 

“In the future, I hope to turn Laina’s Looks into a salon that will offer makeup, styling, braiding, coloring, massage, and nail services," Ervin said. "It will basically be a one stop shop!” 

She told VNN she chose purple as her brand color in honor of her mother, who passed away when Ervin was just 14 years old. 

“Everything I do in my business is for her," Ervin said.
