Incumbents ousted in General Election

(MUSCOGEE NATION) General Election Day for the Muscogee (Creek) Nation National Council Seat B was held Nov. 13 with early voting held Nov. 9 & 10.

Three incumbents have been ousted by challengers in the Okfuskee, Okmulgee and Tulsa District.

Sandra Golden, who previously served on Council, defeated Okfuskee District Representative Travis Scott with 58.53% of the vote.

James Jennings lost his seat in the Okmulgee District to challenger Nelson Harjo Sr. who garnered 1,970 votes over Jennings’s 1,613.

Leonard Gouge defeated Lucian Tiger III in the Tulsa District with 52.80% of total votes cast.

A total number of cast votes for the Okfuskee race was 3,576. Okmulgee District had 3,583 votes cast and the Tulsa race received 3,587 votes in total.

The challenge period will end Nov. 19 at 5 p.m. upon which the election results will become official.
