(LANSING, Mich.) It's been almost three months since 18-year-old Brendan Santo went missing.

He was last seen on the campus of Michigan State University on October 29, 2021, the weekend of the rivalry football game between Michigan State and the University of Michigan.

On Friday, the Michigan State University Police Department said a body was found in the Red Cedar River that is believed to be Santo's.

The identification of the body is still pending.

Santo, a student at Grand Valley State, was on MSU's campus to visit friends at the end of October.

The last time he was seen was just before midnight on October 29, leaving Yakeley Hall.

MSU police say the body was found 1.5 miles downriver from the last sighting of Santo.

Law enforcement officials said they don't think foul play was a factor or that Santo intended to hurt himself.

Over the last 80 days, multiple law enforcement agencies and community members have worked to find Santo.

The investigation is ongoing.
