Man arrested after threatening others with gun, vandalizing hotel
OklahomaCrime
(TULSA, Okla.) On Friday just after midnight, officers were assigned to a strong armed robbery that just occurred at the Extended Stay Hotel on East 41st Street.
Upon arrival, officers learned the suspect Gabriel Edmonds was staying at the hotel with his wife. A short time before officers were called, Edmonds’ girlfriend arrived at the location, which caused a disturbance.
The girlfriend left. Edmonds followed driving around the parking lot. The wife then barricaded the door to the room. Edmonds returned and retrieved a tire iron from a pickup truck in the parking lot.
For an unknown reason Edmonds then broke with windows out to a room two doors down, which was occupied by a male subject, unknown to both Edmonds and his wife.
The male subject retrieved his .45 Cal pistol and opened the door to his room. Edmonds forced his way into the room and struggled with the male subject for the gun. The male subject pulled the trigger but the gun did not discharge. Edmonds then took the gun from the male subject and left the room.
The wife had now left the original hotel room and was hiding behind her vehicle in the parking lot. Edmonds then pointed the handgun at his wife as he reentered their room.
Officers arrived and located the wife and the male subject outside. They were instructed to go back inside the male subject’s room.
As officers were forming an arrest team Edmonds came outside and was taken into custody without incident.
The wife signed a search waiver for the room and the male subject’s .45 Cal pistol was recovered in the bathroom cabinet. It was chamber loaded with a primer strike on the round in the chamber.
Edmonds was arrested for 1st degree burglary and Pointing a Deadly Weapon.
