(NATIONAL) Heavy snow for Northern New England, a Slight to Moderate Risk of excessive rainfall over parts of the Pacific Northwest, and temperatures 15 to 20 degrees above average over parts of the Upper Midwest.

For the remainder of Sunday into Monday, moisture will flow into the Northwest, producing heavy rain. Therefore, the WPC has issued a slight risk of excessive rainfall over the Pacific Northwest through Monday morning.

The associated heavy rain will create mainly localized areas of flash flooding, with urban areas, roads, and small streams the most vulnerable. Furthermore, on Monday evening, the low-level wind will stream moisture into parts of Washington State at 50 knots, producing heavy rain.

Therefore, the WPC has issued a moderate risk of excessive rainfall over parts of Washington State from Monday into Tuesday morning. The associated heavy rain will create numerous areas of flash flooding. Many streams may flood, potentially affecting larger rivers. On Tuesday, the plume of moisture will weaken slightly yet continue to produce heavy rain over parts of the Pacific Northwest.

The WPC has also issued a slight risk of excessive rainfall over the Pacific Northwest on Tuesday into Tuesday evening. The associated heavy rain will create mainly localized areas of flash flooding, with urban areas, roads, and small streams the most vulnerable. Moreover, as the system associated with the heavy rain moves eastward, heavy snow will develop over parts of the Northern/Central Rockies from Sunday evening into Monday evening.

Overnight Monday, the snow will end over most of the Rockies as the system moves into the Midwest. Meanwhile, a deep low over the Northeast will slowly weaken through Tuesday. The system will produce heavy snow over Northern New England from Sunday evening to Monday evening. The snow will continue throughout New England from Monday to Tuesday evening.

However, the snowfall will be lighter during this time period. In addition, a weaker system over the Middle Mississippi Valley will move into the Southern Appalachians and dissipate overnight Monday. By Monday afternoon, the storm will produce light rain from the Middle Mississippi Valley to the Central Appalachians.  Further, the system moving into the Midwest on Monday will produce light snow over parts of the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley Monday evening into Tuesday evening.
