Dispatchers received a call from someone inside the residence in the 1600 block of W. Toledo Place about gunshots being heard and police arrived at about 10:55 a.m. to find the four people dead inside.

Police have not released the identity or ages of the victims, but did say they don’t believe there is any threat to the public at this time. Numerous Broken Arrow officers responded to the neighborhood northeast of 91st Street and Aspen Avenue to speak with neighbors and process the crime scene.

Investigating such a serious event can certainly be difficult for police but BAPD Public Information Coordinator Ethan Hutchins said police officers are trained to handle these types of crimes.

“As officers get the call to respond to a potential murder-suicide it’s something they’re trained for. Fortunately we have a care support team that helps out with counseling, and we have first responder support services that help them get through that situation,” Hutchins said. “But I can tell you our officers are trained very well to respond to something like this.”
