Man killed while trimming tree

(TULSA, Okla.) On Sunday, officers were assigned to North Maplewood Avenue in reference to a Dead On Arrival call (DOA). Further investigation revealed David Sowell, 53, was on a five-foot ladder and trimming a large limb from a tree on his property. He cut through the limb, fell off the ladder and the limb landed on top of him. He died at the scene. Detectives responded to the scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner took custody of the body.
