Cooler temperatures not expected until Friday

(TULSA, Okla.) The current flow pattern will produce lee troughing over the High Plains, and thus the next couple of days will be windier than what we’ve seen for awhile. Storm activity will also increase out west, though none of this activityis expected to make it this far east. Still looks like one more toasty day Monday before temps begin to drop off due to cooler low level thermal fields advecting in from the south. A second shortwave trough will force a front down into our area Thursday into Friday, likely stalling over the area. Models show the highest chances for precipitation across Northeast Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas, and lowest chances down near the Red River. It will be relatively cooler by the end of the week, though only near or slightly above normal. The chance for storms will taper off by next weekend. Monday Sunny, with a high near 96.
