Fight at basketball court leads to shots fired into home of mom and child

(TULSA, Okla.) On Tuesday at 7:15 p.m., officers were radio assigned to a shots fired called at the Meadows Apartments, 2829 S. 115th E. Ave. Apt A.  Upon the officers arrival they made contact with the resident of apartment A, Julia Bryant. Bryant said she and her small child were inside the apartment when the sliding glass door shattered.  She then heard several gunshots from outside her apartment.  Officers discovered a single bullet slug on the living room floor of the victim’s apartment.  Officers then interviewed several witnesses that heard anywhere from 3 to 8 gunshots.  Another witness said a group of men were fighting by the basketball court just east of Bryant’s apartment when one of them starting shooting.  The group of men dispersed in several directions.  Several shell casings were located in the grassy area of where the fight occurred.  SIU Detectives arrived and took photos and gathered evidence.  The victim and her child were not injured and there were no other known victims.  There was no suspect information.
