Man struck, killed by hit-and-run driver

(TULSA, Okla.) UPDATE: After interviewing several witnesses and residents, it appears the victim, Gary Peterson, was walking home from a local church food bank with several bags of groceries. As the victim was crossing the street to enter Cornerstone Village, where he lived, he was struck by a northbound vehicle. Multiple witnesses described the vehicle as a dark colored Chrysler 300. Prior to the collision, the Chrysler was seen driving all over the road, striking several curbs, and speeding. The suspect vehicle will have damage to the right front and/or side. ORIGINAL STORY: On Saturday at 7:30 p.m., officers were radio assigned to an Auto-Pedestrian collision at 1045 N Yale Ave.  An older White, male was pushing his wheelchair across Yale when he was stuck by a dark sedan traveling at a high rate of speed. The driver of the vehicle did not stop after the collision occurred.  Witnesses remained at the scene and attempted to render aid.  The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  Next of kin has not been notified at this time.  The investigation is ongoing.
