OSBI offers $10k reward for information in 2016 cold case

(PITTSBURG COUNTY, Okla.) The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is offering a $10,000 reward for information about the murder of Nathan Scoggins. On February 26, 2016, Scoggins was found dead from a gunshot wound at his mother’s residence located in the Piney Creek/Snug Harbor area near the Longtown community. The 30-year-old was found lying in the kitchen by his mother around 8:45 a.m. She called the Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Office. Upon responding to the scene, the Sheriff requested OSBI investigative assistance. The investigation has been open and ongoing since February 2016 with agents collecting evidence and conducting interviews. Based on the investigation, agents believe multiple people were involved in Scoggins’ murder. At least one person of interest is from Haskell County and another person of interest is likely from outside the county.
