(TULSA, Okla.) Monday will be chilly with low rain chances returning across the southern half of the forecast area. Low-level warm air advection will quickly redevelop. The forecast won't carry low precipitation chances into Monday night, although the most recent models are a bit wetter than previous runs. Moisture advection in the deep southwesterly flow aloft will result in increasing rain chances Tuesday night into Wednesday, with precipitation shifting east Wednesday night. Forecast thermal fields suggest a wintry mix near the KS border late Tuesday night/early Wednesday although accumulations (if any) appear minimal. We could also see brief wintry weather Wednesday night as a secondary band of precipitation swings through in association with a fast-moving upper wave. Minor accumulations will be possible, primarily across far northeast OK into northwest AR. Thursday looks to be the coldest next week, as a brief Arctic intrusion dips into the southern Plains.
