(OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.) Two more people are under investigation for Coronavirus in Oklahoma, officials said Thursday.
We’re told the two travelers recently returned from a location of recent exposure. Oklahoma State Department of Health officials were notified by providers after the two people showed symptoms compatible with Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
They are currently under quarantine, though officials would not elaborate as to whether they are at a medical facility or home quarantine citing Persons Under Investigation (PUI) protocol.
Officials said tests have been sent off to the Center for Disease Control for processing. We’re told Oklahoma is working on the state’s capacity to test for COVID-19 and that it should be available soon.
Testing for the virus currently takes about 72 hours.
Three other people have been tested for the virus in Oklahoma so far. All have been negative.
For confirmed COVID-19 infections, reported illnesses have ranged from people being mildly sick to people being severely ill and dying. Symptoms can include fever, cough and shortness of breath.
