Birthday boy meets hero “Spider-Man” in chance encounter
OklahomaCommunity
(TULSA, Okla.) A 4-year-old boy taking birthday photos in downtown Tulsa got the present of a lifetime Tuesday night- meeting one of the superheroes he was dressing up as.
“It was a great coincidence we happened to be shooting super heroes downtown and found one,” Amanda Tyler Sparks told VNN.
Sparks owns Manda Tyler Photography. She said they were changing photo locations when Loch, 4, started “going crazy” while pointing to a man on the Blue Dome building.
She and Loch’s mom tried brushing him off, believing it was just a regular man but, Sparks said, the birthday boy was pretty persistent.
“I move my angle and look and sure enough there was Spider-Man on the roof of the blue dome!” Sparks said.
It’s no mystery what costume Loch changed into as Sparks tracked Spider-Man down for a picture.
And, of course, Spider-Man said yes.
“With all the darkness in our world today this was something so beautiful,” Sparks said. “Spider-man took time to take a picture with this 4-year-old boy, taught him how to pose and throw his web, and told him to protect his city.”
Sparks said Loch continued to look for more superheroes with every costume he put on for the rest of the night.
The next day, she posted the pictures on social media and was able to track Spider-Man down again.
It turns out the local hero has “an extensive history of free climbing in downtown Tulsa with around 2-3 years climbing of various locations.”
“While I have been climbing, the Spidey suit was a must have touch to what I already do,” Timothy Wallace told VNN.
Wallace said young Loch had the confidence of Spider-Man and came full sprint to him and immediately struck a pose.
“He was super open to listening to me and participating,” Wallace said. “I hope to have made a lasting impression as one of my favorite heroes, while also being that hero for him.”
