I-35 shut down in Garvin County due to fatality wreck

UPDATE:

Troopers said Carlos A. Escoto, 61, of Garland, Texas, was driving a semi north on Interstate 35 when he left the roadway for an unknown reason and hit another semi that was parked on the outside shoulder of the highway.

Both semis caught fire. 

Escoto died at the scene. 

The driver of the other semi, Christopher J. McCaleb, 24, of Mesquite, Texas, was taken to a local hospital, treated and released. 

ORIGINAL STORY:

Troopers said all lanes of I35 northbound at mile marker 68 in Garvin County closed Monday morning due to a fatality collision.

The wreck happened around 7:30 a.m.

Drivers are advised to find an alternative route.
