Flying rock leaves two dead in Garvin County wreck

(GARVIN COUNTY, Okla.) Troopers said two women are dead after a wreck a couple miles north of Pauls Valley on Tuesday evening. We’re told 42-year-old Billy Melson of Pauls Valley was hauling rock in a trailer north on US Highway 77 when one of the rocks came loose and hit the windshield of another vehicle that was traveling south. Two passengers in that other vehicle, 83-year-old Flora Perkins and 89-year-old Wanda Oliver, both of Pauls Valley, were killed when they crashed. Neither Melson nor the other driver were injured.
