(TULSA, Okla.) A mother and her boyfriend are under arrest after beating the woman’s child, police said. According to court records, Selena Coleman is accused of hitting her 4-year-old child with a hanger causing bruising to his stomach, back, bottom and feet. Damian Harris is accused of punching the child in the face causing bruising, and fracturing the child’s femur and elbow.   The boy was brought to St. Francis Hospital the day before Christmas Eve. His mom told staff the child had fallen down the stairs while in the care of his babysitter. Records show the boy had visible injuries to his face and torso and fractures to his right hand, left arm and left femur. He later told officials his mother hit him with a hanger and that it has happened more than once, and that his mom told him to say he had fallen down the stairs. The child told investigators Harris held him down while his mom hit him, then twisted his arm behind his back, lifted him up by the arm, threw him into a wall and then punched him in the face. When interviewed by police, Coleman said her son was in trouble for lying and that Harris choked her when she thought the boy was being punished too severely. She said Harris then took the child into another room and she was afraid to see what was happening so she did not go into the room after them. Coleman also said the child’s hand was broken two weeks prior when Harris was hitting him with a shoe. Harris told investigators he broke the child’s finger two months ago with a hairbrush. Harris was arrested on three counts of child abuse by injury and one count of child neglect on Tuesday. His bond is set at $175,000. Coleman was arrested on two counts of child abuse by injury and one count of child neglect last Wednesday. Her bond is set at $125,000.
